Update to power outages

Indiana Michigan Power says it has been working to restore power to those affected by both Monday and Wednesday's storms.

I&M says power has been restored to 31,000 of the 32,500 people who lost power in Monday's storms.

As of 12 p.m. Thursday, I&M has approximately 8,600 customers without power.

Michigan

  • There are 1400 customers without power from the June 20 storm. The estimated restoration time is Thursday at 11:59 p.m.
  • There are 1,000 customers in Berrien and Cass counties without power from the June 22 storm.

Indiana

  • 200 LaPorte and St. Joseph County customers are without power from the June 20 storm. The estimated restoration time is June 23, 3:00 p.m.
  • There are 4,600 customers without power in Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties from the June 22 storm.

Restoration times for the customers impacted by the June 22 storm are being determined.

I&M has secured sufficient resources to handle both the original and new outages, and have 50 or more additional external linemen en route to assist with restoration efforts.
