BERRIEN COUNTY, Ind. -- The Michigan Department of Transportation will be making repairs on the U.S. 12 bridge over the St. Joseph River between West River Road and Bond Street.
The $3.8 million investment includes joint replacement, steel repairs, painting and deck patching.
The work begins on June 24 and tentatively ends on Nov. 1.
There will be one lane open in each direction to allow for traffic with an 11-foot width restriction in place throughout construction.
According to the department, the repairs will help improve overall ride quality and safety for motorists as well as extend the life of the bridge.
