U.S. 31 lane closures begin Monday south of Argos

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – Lanes along U.S. 31, between 19th Road and 20 B Road, will be closed beginning Monday for a pipe replacement project.

The inside left lanes will be closed for the installation of a north and south crossover during the first phase of the project.

This phase should last about two weeks.

One lane will remain open in each direction during the project, with one side of U.S. 31 closed to traffic and the other side converted to two-way traffic utilizing the crossovers.

Beginning July 2, the Kenilworth Road intersection will be closed for the rest of the project.

The detour for Kenilworth Road on the west side of U.S. 31 will follow Kenilworth Road south to 20 B Road and 20 B Road east to U.S. 31.

The detour for Kenilworth Road on the east side of U.S. 31 will follow Kenilworth Road north to 19th Road and 19th Road west to U.S. 31.

The project is expected to run through mid-August, 2021.

Drivers are asked to please stay alert near crews, slow down while driving, and follow traffic directions carefully.
