INDOT LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Construction is expected to begin at U.S. 35/Indiana Avenue between Marion Street and Cresent Drive/18th Street on or after Aug. 4.
U.S. 35 will be closed through the end of November for reconstruction of the intersection at Kingsbury Avenue, Woodlawn Drive, and U.S. 35.
Road reconstruction will include pavement replacement, storm sewer, water main, and sanitary sewer work.
The official detour will follow S.R. 2, S.R. 39, and U.S. 6.
Construction will continue in 2026 with closures on U.S. 35 between Marion Street and S.R. 2.
