LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announced their contractor will begin lane closures on US 6 between Range Road and Meadowbrook Boulevard on or after June 4.

INDOT states US 6 will be reduced to one lane through mid-July for a bridge deck overlay preventative maintenance project over Tracy Road and CSX Railroad.

Officials say temporary traffic signals will be installed to direct traffic.

Motorists are asked to stay alert near crews and be prepared to wait for the temporary traffic signal.

Motorists should allow extra time when driving through the area, slow down, and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
