U.S. Attorney: Felon with firearm sentenced after pushing girlfriend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A man was sentenced to five years and three months in prison after he pleaded guilty to being in possession of a firearm as a felon.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 30-year-old Antonio Smith grabbed and pushed his girlfriend in March. The incident was reported.

When police found Smith, he was in possession of a loaded 9-millimeter firearm which he bought while on parole.

Police said Smith has a history of violence towards women and violating probation and protective orders.
