Van Buren Co. Sheriff’s Office receives CARES grant

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office has received $127,680 from the CARES Act to purchase trailers, traffic cones, folding tables, chairs, a generator and a tent for mobile COVID-19 testing sites.

The equipment can also be used for future mobile vaccinations or other programs.

Officials also used the money to purchase updated in-car computers, laptops for the Emergency Operation Center and the administration staff.

The new computers will allow employees to work from home and can be sanitized.
