Veggie Van returning to hand out free fruits and vegetables

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Veggie Van, a mobile farmer’s market, will be handing out free bags of locally grown fruits and vegetables on May 6 in Benton Harbor.

The goal of the Veggie Van program, offered by Spectrum Health, is to ensure that fruits and vegetables are available to people who otherwise have limited access to fresh produce.

This event will be hosted from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 6 at the Center for Better Health, 100 West Main Street, and will be held drive-through style.

Only 100 bags of fruits and vegetables will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
