Vehicle and motorcycle collision on SR 15/CR 20 intersection injures four
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A crash involving a motorcycle and vehicle injured three on Saturday around 6:15 pm, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the report, a 2015 Chevy Camaro was stopped at the intersection of SR 15 and CR 20. The Chevy drove through the intersection, heading west.
The motorcycle was heading south on SR 15, approaching the intersection.
However, another vehicle was in front of the bike on SR 15, stopped at the intersection. That car was waiting to turn east onto CR 20. The bike drove on the passenger side of the car to proceed southbound on SR 15.
The Chevy allegedly pulled out in front of the motorcycle, and the motorcycle allegedly hit the passenger side of the car, according to deputies.
Both the driver and passenger were ejected from their bike. The driver, a 64-year-old man from Warsaw, suffered a dislocated hip, road rash and minor scrapes. The passenger, a 60-year-old woman from Warsaw, suffered a broken hip, road rash and scrapes.
The passenger of the Chevy was taken to the hospital for injuries. The driver of the Chevy allegedly refused treatment at the scene and was cited for failing to yield to the right of way, deputies said.
