Vehicle drives off bridge into river, in New Paris

NEW PARIS, Ind. -- A vehicle drove off a bridge on County Road 146 in New Paris, Ind. on Saturday.

The vehicle was driving East on County Road 146 from County Road 33. The vehicle hit a bridge guardrail and went into the air, then into a river where the vehicle came to a stop, according to Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.

The driver taken by ambulance to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was cited for Driving While Suspended-Prior and Driving Left of Center, according to the Sheriff's Office.
