Verdict reached in Tyron Johnson murder case

Police say Tyron Johnson killed Precious Jackson in June of last year.

The crime was committed in front of her children, one of home was Johnson’s.

The jury had four options to choose from.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Christopher Fronk argued the first option, murder.

In his closing statements, he painted Johnson as a liar.

Fronk pointed to inconsistencies between Johnson’s testimony and other evidence.

Defense attorney Charles Lahey pushed for voluntary manslaughter or reckless homicide as verdicts, two other options.

The final option was not guilty, although Johnson admitted to killing Jackson while under oath.
