Veterans possibly exposed to H.I.V.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- 700 patients in Buffalo, New York Veterans Affair Hospital may have been exposed to HIV, Hepatitis-B or Hepatitis-C. That's according to a memo from the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

Hospital workers made the discovery during a routine pharmacy inspection.

Officials say the chance for infection is small but patients treated between October 2010 and November 2012  need to have a blood test.

"As remote as the chances are, it is still serious enough, and it is serious, that these individuals need to come in and have a blood test to confirm they did not contract any of these three viruses."
