MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- VFW Post 360 is partnering with Martin's Supermarket to host a food drive for local veterans.
You can stop by the Martin's at 314 Ironwood Dr. until 5P.M. today to drop off any food or paper donations. All items will go towards the 12 veteran families the organization has 'adopted' for the holiday season.
If you can't make a food donation, monetary donations and gift cards are also acceptable. Checks can be made out to 'Auxiliary 360' with 'Hero' in the memo line. All monetary donations can be dropped off to the bartender at the Canteen at the post Monday-Thursday from 2-8P.M., and Fridays from 2-10P.M.
The VFW also has other events planned for this year, including a Thanksgiving dinner for veterans and their immediate family members, and that event is open to non-members.
Even events that are exclusively for members allow for community involvement. The VFW is always looking for volunteers to help make these events possible.
A full list of events for the year can be picked up from the post at 1307 E. Jefferson Blvd in Mishawaka.
The VFW also wants to encourage those who may be eligible to reach out about becoming a member.
You can learn more about VFW Post 360, membership eligibility and volunteer opportunities on its Facebook page or its website.
