Groundbreaking for phase two of ’The Cascade’
ST. JOSEPH, Mich.—Drone video shared by a local photographer shows multiple people walking out onto the ice that has formed on Lake Michigan at Silver Beach.
Temperatures are well above freezing and ice conditions are very unsafe, according to Meteorologist Dave Caulfield.
The ice shelf seen in the video above might look study, but it’s actually very hollow underneath and people visiting the beach should stay off of the ice.
The video was taken by Nathan Voytovick in St. Joseph, Michigan on February 25.

This was not a good idea this weekend, and it's definitely not a good idea now. Ice is starting to break-up. @DaveCaulfield_ has more tonight on @ABC57News
