ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—Damage could be seen across St. Joseph County on Sunday following the touchdown of a reported tornado around 8:45 p.m.

Multiple trees and power lines were down on Sunday due to the weather. 

The South Bend Police Department tweeted around 10 p.m. on Sunday that officers were finding damage at the Irish Hills Apartments. Officers also reported trees and power lines down near the area of Ironwood between Ireland Lincolnway. 

Growing Kids, a childcare and preschool center on Ireland Road, sustained significant damage on Sunday. The business released the following statement regarding the damage:

Growing Kids on Ireland Road took significant damage tonight as a result of the tornado. We will not be open tomorrow. We will be in contact as we figure out accommodation for our families. Enrolled parents, please monitor LifeCubby as we will be in touch tomorrow with an action plan.
