SOUTH BEND, Ind.—Family and friends held a vigil Monday night for Benito Bueno, who was shot and killed outside of Bar Louie in Mishawaka on July 11, 2017.
The vigil took place at Bueno’s final resting place at the Southlawn Cemetery on what would have been his 29th birthday.
“It’s been a very difficult path, a very difficult ride to be able to come here and to remember, to reminisce about him brings some peace to us,” said Bueno’s father, Pablo “Pilo” Bueno, Jr.
Last year, police charged Miguel Rosales with Bueno’s death, but the murder charge was later dropped.
Rosales admitted to hitting Bueno with a bottle but not to shooting him.
