Village Green makes payment on water bill, water to remain on

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Mishawaka Utilities announced Monday the owners of Village Green made a payment required by the agreement reached last week.

The payment ensures water service to the Village Green Mobile Home Park will not be discontinued.

In August 2017, Village Green sued Mishawaka Utilities claiming the utility company charged the neighborhood inconsistent amounts for water, sewer, electric, and trash services.

The city said Village Green owed $236,086.75 in water and sewer fees, $73,250 in trash fees, and $44,500.72 in electric fees.

In March, Village Green paid Mishawaka Utilities $73,804.52 for its trash bill. Trash service was restored to the community on March 19.
