Volkswagen recalls some Atlas vehicles due to faulty front passenger seats
Volkswagen of America issued a recall on certain Model Year 2018-2021 Atlas and 2020 Atlas Cross Sport vehicles because of faulty occupant detection systems in the vehicles' front passenger seats.
According to the manufacturer, the system may have faulty wiring, which could deactivate the air bag when someone is sitting in the seat.
Owners of these vehicles are urged to not let anyone sit in the front passenger seat until the issue is fixed.
This recall affects 143,053 vehicles.
Volkswagen is currently in the process of finding a solution to the problem and will notify vehicle owners when a repair is available.
