Volunteers expand search for Alma Del Real

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -

The search for Alma Del Real expanded into Elkhart on Tuesday.  The 22-year-old was last seen in the early morning hours of April 12, after leaving a South Bend nightclub with one of her friends.

Tuesday, the search was expanded from South Bend to Elkhart.

The search group met for the first time at a Kroger in Elkhart, and then moved to a wooded area.

"The fact that she might be somewhere other than South Bend, we're not sure," says Amber Rodriguez, a family friend of Del Real.

Rodriguez wanted to expand the search, so she started a grassroots search group, that widened the search for Del Real from South Bend to Elkhart.

"I can't sleep at night not knowing where she's at," says Rodriguez.

Rodriguez says starting Tuesday, she will be holding daily searches during weekdays.
