Volunteers help decorate downtown South Bend

Volunteers showed up to downtown South Bend Friday to help decorate for the holidays. Organizers say they’ve been planning for this holiday season since the end of last year’s.

Volunteers twisted garland around light poles, put up bows and banners and hung lights.

"We have a team of 14 ambassadors to help throughout the night and day to put things up. We've got volunteers for the first time this year and I couldn't even tell you how many hours it takes it is a lot of hours,” said Joel Barrett, DTSB Ambassador Program General Manager.

They say they have to start decorating this early to get everything ready for the tree lighting ceremony on December 1st.
