Volunteers needed for Earth Day cleanup at Indiana Dunes
PORTER COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Dunes National Park is looking for volunteers to participate in their first annual Earth Day cleanup event.
Volunteers can now register to participate in the Indiana Dunes Trash Trekkers Earth Day Cleanup happening on Thursday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
During the event, volunteers will collect trash and debris that gathered over the winter from beaches, roadsides, the Little Calumet River, and trails of Indiana Dunes Country.
“Participating in the cleanup is a great way to take pride in your community, celebrate the spring, and enjoy your neighborhood National Park,” said Volunteer Program Manager Jim Whitenack.
Those interested in signing up for the event should contact [email protected] or call 219-221-7098 to be assigned a cleanup location. Volunteers must register with the park’s volunteer office before Sunday, April 18.
This event is sponsored by Friends of Indiana Dunes, Indiana Dunes Tourism, and the Volunteer Office of Indiana Dunes National Park.
