Vote for local K9 unit to win 2019 Chevy Tahoe
The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office's Deputy Eric Calhoun and K9 Kuno are finalists for an online sweepstakes to win a 2019 Chevy Tahoe fitted for a K9 unit.
The contest is sponsored by Vested Interest, a non-profit that provides bullet and stab protective vests to law enforcement dogs.
The sweepstakes runs from now until October 31 at 8 a.m. The team with the most votes will win the Tahoe.
K9 Kuno and Deputy Calhoun have been partners for just over 2 years and are certified with NAPCH in suspect apprehension, narcotics detection, tracking criminals as well as lost children, and article search.
K9 Kuno assisted in the tracking and recovery of a 3 year old child that walked away from home in the middle of the night and became lost in the woods, deputies said. Deputy Calhoun and Kuno located the child and he was reunited with his family.
