WALKERTON, Ind. - In less than 12 hours the Walkerton Heritage Museum will finally open its doors to the public.
The museum is run by the Walkerton Area Historical Society which aims to preserve and share the history of Walkerton and the surrounding area.
This museum will be geared towards family and themes of community and work surrounding the Walkerton area.
The museum is community-led and supported by donors and volunteers.
One of the standout features of the museum is its research room, which is open to the public for researching topics of interest.
The museum's extensive archive contains information on things like family genealogy and details about local landmarks like bowling alleys and homes.
The museum is open Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. To 5 p.m. and is located at 302 Roosevelt Road in Walkerton.
