Safety tips for the warmer weather ahead
GOSHEN, Ind. -- An organization that is working to bring quality daycare centers to Elkhart County has been given an award for its innovative work with families.
Walnut Hill Early Education Childhood Center was awarded the grand prize in Early Learning Indiana's Family Engagement prize competition.
The center won $25,000.
"This is just the beginning of the work around family engagement. The work here at Walnut Hill and our work with Early Learning Indiana is going to allow us to take the lessons learned here and find ways to share these and make them doable for other programs cause our goal is to make sure that every child in Indiana has access to the same excellence that they're providing here at Walnut Hill," said Amy Helton, the Director of Statewide Family Services.
Walnut Hill Early Education Childhood Center is one of 14 early childhood programs throughout the state that won an award.
