MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- If you or someone you know in Michigan City needs a warm place to stay during the frigid temperatures in the next week, here are some locations.

  • Michigan City Fire Administration Building, 2510 E. Michigan Blvd. (8 a.m. - 4 p.m., M-F)
  • Michigan City Senior Center , 2 on the Lake (8 a.m. - 4 p.m., M-F)
  • Michigan City City Hall, 100 E. Michigan Blvd. (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., M-F)
  • Michigan City Public Library, 100 E. 4th Street (during regular business hours)
  • Keys to Hope Community Resource Center, 1802 Franklin Street (8 a.m. - 5 p.m., M-F, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., weekends)

Mayor Meer urges the citizens of Michigan City to check on family, friends, neighbors, pets, and especially the elderly during extreme cold outbreaks to ensure everyone stays healthy and safe.
