Wayne State University shot and injured, critical condition

A Wayne State University police officer was injured in a shooting at approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night. 

According to ABC affiliate WXYZ, The officer, a 20-year-old male was shot in the head after stopping a suspect on a bicycle. 

It is reported police made several arrests Monday night related to car break-ins in the same area where the shooting occurred. 

He remains in ‘very critical condition’ at Detroit Receiving Hospital. 

Sources say it is important to note the shooting occurred off campus grounds.
