ELKHART, Ind -- With hundreds of weddings being cancelled in 2020, everyone is in a rush to walk down the aisle in 2021.
The only issue with that is, the wedding venues can't seem to keep up.
Several churches, outdoor and indoor venues, are searching deep into their books to find days for wedding bookings.
Several booking managers even mentioning that people are choosing untraditional days to get married or simply rushing to the alter.
"We are seeing quite a few people that are doing things last minute. Whether somethings being cancelled or they’re just figuring let’s just go ahead and get this done. We had one bride that contacted me on a Tuesday. It was a small wedding. Twelve to fifteen people." said Wellfield Botanic Garden projects coordinator Karla Beasley
There were some venues such as the Botanic Gardens who had a little bit of slack during the start of the pandemic due to being an outdoor venue and they're doing even better now.
"For us it’s probably an increase in maybe thirty-fifty percent. We’ve had a lot of inquiries and that’s definitely been a good thing for us. Really for us it’s a matter of having available dates." said Wellfield Botanic Garden executive director Eric Garton.
Venues have also mentioned that the influx in bookings, doesn't just belong to weddings but also company meetings an receptions for weddings in 2020.
