BENTON HARBOR, Mich. - The celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. continued Thursday night, at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, with special guest speaker, Laila Ali.
Ali, a former world championship professional boxer and daughter of the late great Muhammad Ali, headlined Thursday night's main event with ABC57's Brian Conybeare serving as host.
Speaking to the younger members in the audience, Ali stated, "I will say slow down. Because I was in a hurry to grow up, I was in a hurry to be independent, I wanted to pay my own bills and call my own shots, which was okay, but I didn't take time to have fun, and do things that you will be doing. You know, you have the weight of the world on your shoulders."
