SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Construction on Western Avenue in South Bend is expected to wrap up by October, according to a post on the Smart Streets Twitter account.
Chico's Mexican American Restaurant, at the corner of Olive and Western, says construction has actually helped their business.
"We've had a bit more people come through because they check out what's going on here. The city has been very conscious of the businesses here. It's a bit inconvenient, but it's not a problem," said Angelica Rodriguez, owner of Chico's Mexican American Restaurant.
The work includes a new curb and sidewalk.
