Wienermobile visits South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile pulled into the Michiana Humane Society Wednesday.

The folks on board, known as Hotdoggers, stopped in to play with the pets, help the community and hopefully get some attention on some of the animals in need of a home.

"The Wienermobile is 77 year old American icon. It's been on the road since 1936 and so it is a really recognizable vehicle. It is 27 feet long, 8 feet wide and 11 feet high. So if people drive by, they might see it in the parking lot, stop in wonder why we are here and hopefully they can meet some animals," said Kevin Jacobson, Oscar Mayer Hotdogger.

You may see the car around Michiana. It will be here until Monday.
