Wildlife officials rescue deer trapped in ice

GOLDEN, Colo. -- Wildlife officials rescued a stranded deer in Colorado after the animal wandered onto a frozen lake and got stuck there.

He kept slipping on the ice so rescuers lassoed the deer and pulled him safely to shore.

"It did take off like a shot so my officers, who are also biologists, think that this animal's in really good shape. Hopefully, it won't come near ice again," said Jennifer Churchil, Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Officials believe the deer will be just fine.
