Will you be my chilly Valentine? Cold today with more snow
Happy Valentine’s Day, Michiana! Mother Nature must not be a fan of the holiday, as she’s treating us with chilly temperatures and more snow chances.
This morning, some areas are seeing wind chills dipping into the negative teens, while others are near zero or in the low single digits. Temperatures only hit the upper teens for our daytime high, but will feel cooler than that since it is windy. Chances for snow increase after 3 p.m.
Overnight, we will see some accumulating snow. Not super fun for a Monday morning, but you’ll want to wake up a few minutes early to drive into work safely. During the day Monday, there are a few additional snow showers, but more snow holds off until Monday evening and overnight. The drive home from work Monday will also likely be slow going. In total from tonight – early Tuesday morning, most of Michiana will pick up 1-3” total. Areas near Lake Michigan along with areas to the southeast have the potential to pick up +3”.
Monday and Tuesday, daytime highs stay in the mid teens, then we’ll rebound into the 20s for the rest of the week, and finally back into the 30s by next weekend.
