7:00 PM UPDATE: Warning has been allowed to expire. but a Wind Advisory continues for most of Michiana until 10 PM. The wind still gusting in excess of 30 mph, but has calmed some since early afternoon. Added below peak gusts from early came close to 50 MPH for most of Michiana, 60 MPH at Fort Wayne ( Fig 1, Fig 2)

2:30 PM UPDATE: Peak wind gusts are happening now across Michiana and will continue through the afternoon. Gusts have topped in the 50 mph range for most of Michiana, and 60 mph at Fort Wayne ( National Weather Service of Northern Indiana). The wind will gradually calm this evening, but expect breezy conditions to continue into Tuesday. 

12:00 PM UPDATE: Storm Reports

St Joseph County: Numerous trees are down from Burr Oak to White Pigeon

Allen County: Around 3000 people are without power in Fort Wayne.

Kosciusko County: Near Winona Lake, large tree limbs have been blown down. Also, at County Farm and SR 14, a tree is down on the road.

Whitley County: Most of Colombia City is without power.

It is going to be a very windy day, especially for Kosciusko County with gusts up to 60 mph and a sustained wind of at least 35 mph. Make sure you use extra caution while driving today. A gust of wind can make your car swerve so be on guard. Also, large trees and branches will be blown down and this could potentially cause power outages. Temps begin to drop into the 30s later this afternoon and the wind chill will be in the teens by dinner time. Drive safely out there!
