Winter weather hammers Midwest, the Plains

NATIONAL — It was a weekend weather mess across the Plains and the Midwest.

In Detroit, heavy winds knocked out power Sunday to about 200,000 customers.

And in Utah, icy roads proved to be deadly.

The streets in Fargo, North Dakota proved to be barely drivable with sub-zero temperatures and blizzard conditions with 50 mph winds.

Monday's forecast has much of the Northeast expecting snow. While the Midwest braces for a deep freeze.
