Wisconsin man goes to Syria to fight against ISIS illegally

Some Americans have been caught journeying to the Middle East to join ISIS, however one man has gone to Syria to fight against the terror group.

28-year-old Jordan Matson is a former U.S. Army soldier from Wisconsin, and for the past month, he has been a volunteer fighter in the Kurdish Militia, known as YPG, fighting ISIS to keep them out of Kobani.

“I got in contact with the YPG on Facebook and I prayed about it for probably a month or two and really soul searched and said, ‘Is this what I want to do?' and eventually decided to do it,” says Matson.

U.S. law enforcement officials say it illegal for an American to join a Syrian militia, but Matson says being there and fighting ISIS is a dream come true.
