Woman accused of ripping boyfriend's testicle off
A Michigan City woman was arrested for her alleged role in a violent domestic dispute that ended with a severe injury to her partner.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend ended with an unimaginable injury, and the details are graphic.
Thursday evening, a Michigan City resident, who has chosen to remain anonymous, was home at his apartment complex on Spring St., when he heard this:
“A lot of commotion, rumbling and stuff like that,” he said.
That commotion came from apartment 2b, a floor above.
“Sound like more than kids wrestling sound like someone actually in altercation,” said the neighbor.
Turns out, that altercation was between a woman, Tara Pegues, and her boyfriend, Anthony Black.
“Mr. Black is a good dude he love his kids, kids in general, nice personality easy to get along with,” said the neighbor.
But on Thursday, Black was clearly not getting along with Pegues, and the result will make you cringe too.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Black attempted to leave the apartment but when he got to the front door, Pegues grabbed his testicles, causing one of them to detach from his body.
“I was shocked I was totally shocked took me by surprised because you don’t see or hear stuff like that every day,” said the neighbor.
Thursday afternoon, ABC 57 News Reporter Evan Sery walked up to the second floor of the complex where the dispute took place.
A boarded up front door, and no trespassing sign, was all our reporter could find.
Court documents suggest Pegues was upset over Black’s possibly infidelity.
I asked their neighbor if he believes her response was appropriate.
Pegues’ bond is set at $25,000.
She’s being charged with both aggravated and domestic battery, level 3 and 6 felonies.
She has a court appearance set for Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
Black has been released from the hospital but was not available for comment.
