Woman found unconscious in Franklin Street home dies

ELKHART, Ind. - A woman found unconscious alongside two others in a Franklin Street home on November 20 has died, according to the Elkhart County Coroner. 

She was identified as Elizabeth Howell. The coroner said Howell died of natural causes in the hospital. 

Autopsy results for the two men found dead in the home, identified as 74-year-old Garry Dewayne Howell Sr. and 50-year-old Garry D. Howell, are not available at this time, but the coroner said they were not shot and did not die of an overdose. 

The three victims were related, according to the coroner. 

Elkhart police were initially called out to the home, in the 1600 block of W. Franklin St., for a welfare check, after a witness noticed packages piling up outside the residence. 

When they arrived, they forced entry, and found the two men already dead.
