Woman hospitalized after allegedly attempting to drown child

A woman was taken to the hospital, then the Bowen Center after allegedly trying to drown a 6-year-old child.

Plymouth Police were called to 1032 Ed Cook Boulevard at 3:30 Thursday afternoon for an unknown situation.

When they arrived, a woman told police Amanda Nethercutt tried to drown a child.

The woman had several injuries to her face and the 6-year-old child's face was blue, according to police.

Police say then went to 1036 Ed Cook Boulevard and saw Amanda standing outside with a knife in her hand.

When she failed to drop the knife, police used a taser on her, according to reports.

Amanda was taken into custody and transported to the hospital, then taken to the Bowen Center for evaluation.

The witness and the child were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
