Woman hospitalized after two-vehicle crash in Jefferson Township
JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Cassopolis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Dailey Road and Pine Lake Street in Jefferson Township on Sunday around 9:40 a.m.
Initial reports indicate that 71-year-old Cassopolis resident, Elizabeth Csakany, was traveling East on Pine Lake Street, but failed to yield upon entering Dailey road, and collided with Kathleen Pence, a 61-year-old Edwardsburg resident.
Pence was transported to Elkhart General Hospital by Pride Care Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police report that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the incident, and seatbelts were worn by both drivers at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
