Woman injured after vehicle crashes into telephone pole
CASS COUNTY, Mich. – Police say a woman was transported to the hospital after suffering injuries in an early morning crash in Newberg Township.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports, 23-year-old Kaitlyn Myriah Bailey of Grand Rapids, Michigan was traveling on M-40, slightly north of Shavehead Lake Road around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Bailey’s vehicle had been traveling southbound where it struck a telephone pole and crashed into the eastern portion of the road into a farm field, according to the press release.
Emergency personnel arrived to the scene and transported Bailey to Kalamazoo for injuries sustained.
Police say alcohol and drugs may be a factor in the incident.
Bailey was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Newberg Ambulance and Newberg Fire assisted the Cass County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
