Woman lucky to be alive after crashing into a power pole

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Firefighters say that a woman is lucky to be alive after her car slammed into a pole.

The woman was driving along Mishawaka Avenue when one of her tires blew sending the car into a spin. She then hit a power pole.

There was significant damage to the front end of the car.

The woman was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
