Woman sentenced for May shooting on Portage Avenue

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A woman was sentenced to three years in prison with all but 35 days suspended for shooting a man on May 17 at a home on Portage Avenue.

Tera Edwards pleaded guilty to one count of battery by means of a deadly weapon as part of a plea agreement. The charge of aggravated battery was dismissed.

Edwards was accused of shooting Larry Wallace in the side, according to court records.

Edwards was sentenced to three years in prison with 2 years and 330 days suspended.

She had already served 35 days in jail.
