Woman stabs boyfriend in the back, literally!

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend woman is behind bars after police say she stabbed her boyfriend when he told her he wanted to move out.

Investigators were called to 823 North Turnock Street, just after 8 a.m. Monday morning and found a man stabbed three times in the back.

Police arrested April Jakab later Monday afternoon for stabbing her boyfriend Aaron Balentine three times in the back with a pocket knife. Police say the stabbing happened after the couple got in an argument. According to the police report, Balentine had told his girlfriend he wanted to move out and that is what started the dispute.

Neighbors say they saw Balentine staggering out of his house covered in blood yelling "She stabbed me" just before police arrived and he was rushed to the hospital.

Jakab now faces two charges, one for aggravated battery and another for resisting arrest.

Balentine has been released from the hospital and is back home recovering from his three stab wounds.
