Woman suffers chest wound after shooting on W. Ewing
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The South Bend Police Investigative Bureau is looking into a shooting that occurred in the 1800 block of W. Ewing Avenue at approximately 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Patrol officers arrived to the 1800 block of W. Ewing Avenue on reports of shots fired.
A home was found with damage when officers arrived to the scene.
After arriving, officers were alerted to a walk-in shooting victim at an area hospital.
Authorities met with a female, 27, who suffered a non-life threatening wound to the chest.
Officers learned the victim was at home when an unknown male arrived and began to knock on the door.
The victim refused to let the man in and that’s when shots were fired and the victim was struck in the chest, according to a press release.
Authorities described the suspect as a “black male with a skinny build.”
