Women Experience the Outdoors Program: Wild Edibles

Women Experience the Outdoors: Wild Edibles will be held at Bendix Woods County Park on Saturday, July 21, 2012, 9 a.m. to noon. The program is designed for women 18 and over and teenage girls accompanied by an adult. The $8 per person fee includes park entrance, program supplies, and a snack. Registration and payment are required by July 18 at (574) 654-3155.

Participants will learn about a variety of edible plants growing wild in this area. Learn to identify some native and non-native plants that can add unique flavor to meals, and receive a booklet with recipes and identification information. Enjoy sampling a few dishes made with local wild edibles.
