Young girl killed in US12-Old 205 accident

Upate: Sherrifs Office has revised their initial report,  4-year-old Adrianna Chanthavongsavat was in a safety seat. 


CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports a 4-year-old passenger injured in the accident at US12 and Old 205 Monday evening died from her injuries.



The sheriff's office says a pickup truck and a car collided head on at the intersection of US12 and Old 205 at 4:09 p.m. in Mason Township.



The pickup truck was driven by 73-year-old Edwin Powless Jr and the car was driven by 25-year-old Linda Chanthavongsavath



Linda Chanthavongsavath and her passenger, 4-year-old Adrianna Chanthavongsavath were taken by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital.



Powless was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.



The sheriff's office says Adrianna died from her injuries. She was not in a child safety seat.



The accident is still under investigation.



Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to the sheriff's office.
