These days finding a job and keeping it is harder than ever. One Michiana man is looking to change that for young people in  South Bend.

Youth Jobs SB is a new website that launched yesterday and is part of City of South Bend Venue Parks & Arts.  It aims to provide youth in South Bend the opportunity to get involved in workforce training, employment boot camps and job readiness programs.

The program was created to prepare young adults for the work force by providing them with necessary resources and employment opportunities to succeed. The program is targeted to people ages 15 to 21.

Participants can choose one of three areas to get involved in. These areas include; Traditional Work Track, Youth Jobs SB Core 60 and Job Skills Camp opportunities. The city’s youth employment coordinator, Kintae Lark said they have several jobs available.

“What we’re doing now is being a bit more intentional to reach out within our inner city and to some of the young people that are within our city. To let them know they have access and there are opportunities,”  said Kintae Lark, Youth Employment Coordinator for City of South Bend.

The city is looking for empowerment coaches to help out with the program. To learn  more about Youth Jobs SB and what they offer, you can visit their website at https://youthjobssb.org/
