Youth workers honored for their dedication during the pandemic

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – On Thursday, December 17, youth workers will be honored for their dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This project is a collaboration between #MaskUpMichiana and St. Joseph County Cares, a consortium of over 60 local organizations committed to youth and family mental health and well-being in St. Joseph County.

Over 400 youth worker appreciation bags will be distributed to staff and volunteers. Items in the bags are intended to encourage self-care, and include #MaskUpMichiana masks, totes, foot pamper masks, hot chocolate, YMCA stress balls, snacks and more.

Director of Outreach and Partnership Development with United Way of St. Joseph County Velshonna Luckey expresses gratitude for the workers during this difficult time.

“We are extremely grateful for the contributions of our youth workers and the unique role they play in uplifting lives in our community, and we applaud their commitment,” said Luckey. “This is a way to recognize them during the holidays, and to let them know they are seen and appreciated.”
