Talia Baia is a Sports Multimedia Journalist for ABC57 News, bringing a dynamic blend of on-air experience, digital storytelling, and production expertise to South Bend. Raised in Newport Beach, California, she’s a proud Lakers and Dodgers fan with a lifelong passion for sports and storytelling.

Talia recently graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida, earning a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Communications with a specialization in Sports and Media. She also completed a certificate in Sports Management, rounding out her industry knowledge both on and off the field.

During her time at UF, Talia worked as a beat reporter and multimedia journalist for ESPN Gainesville, where she led coverage of the Florida Gators men’s basketball team throughout their 2025 national championship run, including traveling with the team during the NCAA Tournament. She also spent over three years as a sports anchor for WUFT News, reporting on some of the biggest moments in Florida athletics.

Talia’s production skills were sharpened at CBS Sports in New York, where she worked as a broadcast associate, learning the ins and outs of scripting, graphic creation, and show production. She also brought her creativity to Barstool Sports as an intern, where she pitched Gen Z campaigns and content strategies that generated millions of views and engagements across platforms.

When she’s not covering sports, you can find Talia with a good book in hand, out on the tennis court, traveling the world, or spending time with animals—her other great love.
