South Bend storm drain mural project complete
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Police say an 11-month-old boy was shot in the shoulder during an early Sunday morning shooting in South Bend.
According to officials, officers responded to the 300 block of N. O'Brien Street on a ShotSpotter Activation around 3:30 a.m. Around 4 a.m., officers were notified of a walk in shooting victim at an area hospital.
Police say the child was treated and released.
After an initial investigation, officers learned the child was with his grandmother sleeping when shots were fired. She grabbed the child and went to her car which was also damaged by gunfire.
